WILD BLUEBERRIES

They are small berries of purplish-blue color with a mild and slightly sweet flavor, they grow on the blueberry. It is also called brimbelle in eastern France and especially in the Vosges.

It is one of the berries lightest in sugars and calories, and the richest in fiber and antioxidants that gives it appetite suppressants, wild blueberry is very diuretic. Rich in vitamins C, K and B3, it has antiseptic, anti-diarrhea, antihemorrhagic and anti-haemorrhagic properties. Wild blueberry contributes to overall tone and supports the immune system.

Berries can be used in pastry, to make jams, syrups, sorbets, herbal teas, brandy, liqueurs or wines.

Wild blueberries can be eaten fresh, dried, canned or frozen.

Blueberry picking is regulated in France.
