Description

The tricholoma of the St Georges grows only from April to June, especially at medium altitude, in the limestone meadows where it draws circles of witches and sinuous bands.

Depending on the region, it is commonly called «St George’s Moss». This mushroom is formed by a hat of 5-10-15 cm, of uniform but very variable color, white, grayish, apricot and even orange yellow. Its foot, of the same color is robust, cylindrical and swollen at the base, its flesh is compact and white; it is a very fragrant mushroom.

This tricholoma of the St Georges is an excellent edible, although the very pronounced taste of its flesh may not please some. Then we’ll get him cleared.

St Georges mousseron can be eaten fresh, dried, canned and frozen.
