Description

The wood hedgehog grows in lines and sometimes in isolation, in undergrowth of deciduous or coniferous trees, the wood hedgehog usually grows from summer to autumn. A small shoot in June is possible.

This wild mushroom is formed of a hat of 3 to 15 cm, bumpy, variable size, white-cream, the hymenium is covered with needles of 3 to 6 mm of cream color, fragile and easily detachable. Its 3 to 7 cm foot is generally stocky and whitish. Its white flesh is firm and very appreciated in the kitchen.

The wood hedgehog is rich in fiber, it very effectively stimulates intestinal transit. Well provided with protein which is rare, this wild mushroom also contains a very important amount of minerals and an interesting amount of selenium known for these antioxidant virtues. Finally, we find under his hat a full range of vitamins, good for bones, cells and blood circulation.
