The Upland Moss grows from spring to fall, often in large numbers and sometimes in witch rings in clearings, meadows, even lawns, and along roadsides.
This wild mushroom is formed of a hat of 2 to 6cm, of fawn color, chamois and a very fine foot of the same color of 4 to 10 cm, it is a small mushroom very fragrant.
The "mousserons des près" remains an excellent edible, especially in omelette. It is also particularly suitable for drying. The tough foot is usually thrown away.
Mousseron can be eaten fresh, dried, canned and frozen.
