Description

This small mushroom of 3 to 12 cm grows in groups, often in lines, sometimes in circles at the edges of the woods, on the slopes of the paths, the gray chanterelle accommodates hardwood and softwood, enjoying very wet soils, pine and fern needle litter, old stumps and moss.

From autumn it is found in the mountains, up to 1600m above sea level and until February in the plain.

This mushroom is formed by a hat of 1 to 7 cm of gray fawn color to gray brown. The foot is 5 to 13 cm long and flexous, hollow, of bright yellow color tarnishing with age or exposure, often darker towards the hat.

Grey Chanterelle can be eaten fresh, dried, canned or frozen.
