It is a very fragile fungus.
Formerly southern the milky is still appreciated in the south of France.
Today common in all temperate latitudes, it grows from late summer to early winter, mainly under pine trees. This species grows mainly in spruce forests.
This wild mushroom with lamellae is formed of a hat with a diameter of 6 to 9 cm, convex, orange-red, and often bearing greenish spots. Its foot measures 2 to 7 cm.
Its flesh brittle, whitish then yellow carrot and slowly greening at the cup, with a sweet smell and fruity flavor; latex quite abundant, bright orange tarnishing.
Milkcap can be eaten fresh, canned or frozen.
